Ladies and gentleman, we have a jury!

Despite all odds, the U.S. District Court was able to find 16 local men and women unbiased enough to sit in judgment on one Karen Cunagin Sypher. Her two-week trial commences July 26th.

This has always struck me as a flaw in our judicial system, at least when it comes to well-publicized cases. Sure, unbiased members of the jury are a virtue, but shouldn't minimum levels of engagement with community be one as well? I cannot fathom the Louisvillian that doesn't have some preconceived notions about the case.
